Grand Constitutions of Berlin

There are several versions of this text, a true constitutional charter of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, from at least six copies, either in English or in French, the original never having been produced. The version presented here is supposed to have been translated from Latin.

In fact, the most commonly accepted hypothesis is that it is apocryphal, both in terms of its content and its signatory, but the question of its historicity and authenticity is irrelevant, since what matters is its symbolic function.

In this spirit, together with the Constitutions of Bordeaux, these Grand Constitutions constitute the only fundamental laws of the Scottish Order.
